emmi-pet ultrasonic teeth cleaning & training
What is emmi-pet™?
Emmi-pet™ is an ultrasonic tooth brush for dogs. The emmi-pet™ ultrasonic toothbrush helps to support a dogs dental care. Regular tooth brushing, and other preventative care, is the most effective measure to keep the mouth and teeth healthy. The emmi-pet™ ultrasonic toothbrush cleans even inside the tightest spaces in-between teeth and gums for cleaner teeth and healthier gums. emmi-pet™ uses patented 100% ultrasound technology that operates completely silent and cleans without the need for a brushing movement. This is great for dogs as there is no sound, movement or vibration to put them off of the treatment. This makes emmi-pet™ the oral care solution preferred by pet owners and pet care professionals.
It is important to note that, even as good as it is, the emmi-pet™ brush system should only be used as a preventative treatment, and not as a curative treatment. This is why it is so important to us to be able to refer dogs to the vets for medical intervention.

Why do I use it?
As a pet professional i have made the choice to work with animals. Wether i am grooming, carrying ouy massage therapy or teeth cleraning i chose to work with animals to be able to help them out as best I can. Using the emmi-pet™ brush I am able to add a great service treatment for your doggies, and when carried out using my skills and techniques it is something that I always get great results with. The emmi-pet™ brush system is a superior product compared to the other options on the market as it is the only brush that works without the use of noise, movement or vibration, making it the best choice of brush for the treatment for your doggies.
Benefits for you and your dog:
Your dogs can come to see me for this preventative treatment and hopefully avoid high vets bills and the use of anaesthetic.
Your dogs that come for this preventative treatment are less likely to need anaesthetic based intervention in the future.
regular maintenance and treatments will also mean i can spot and refer any problems that i see with your doggies so that any problems can be seen and addressed before they become problematic.
The treatment cost is £35-70 depending on the amount of build up on the teeth. The vets scale and polish usually begins at £250 so this is a very cost effective treatment for your doggies.
Differences between my treatment and the vets scale and polish
One thing to note is that I do not polish the teeth post treatment. This requires specialist equipment and the dog must be sedated for this. To minimise the risk of damaging the enamel I am very careful and gentle with the surface of the tooth and with my technique I minimise the contact with the tooth, so damage is completely minimised and polishing is not required. In the 5 years i have been cleaning i have never had any negative feedback from clients or vets as to the process or my results. In fact, about 3 years ago the vets began referring their clients to come to me and have this treatment, so it has been great for the service to get recommended directly from the vets. In Banbury i have received a lot of compliments from vets on this treatment and my results.
One of the most important and attractive features of this treatment is that I DO NOT need to sedate your dog and no anaesthetic is required. Treatment at the vets requires your dog to be anaesthetised, which has inherent risks attached. I will work with your dog one on one to build trust in the process so that we can achieve the results without the need for any sedation to be used. I have a very high success rate and no matter the age, breed, temperament or experience of the dog, i will always encourage you to bring them along and let me assess them and see what we can do. It is important to remember that your dogs will behave totally differently for you, their owners, as they do for me, so if your little one lets you nowhere near their teeth, this is not likely to be how they are with me, kids always play up for their owners!!!
** Please note - i am all about working with vets to achieve the best outcome for your doggie, so if i see something either before or during the treatment that i think requires veterinary checks and care then i will refer you back to your vet with information as to what i have seen. Sometimes this may mean the treatment is stopped or cannot go ahead. I will always have your dogs best interestes at heart and your dogs health and wellbeing is paramount**
How is the treatment carried out?
The cleaning is done using the emmi-pet brush, which is a non vibrating tooth brush. I work around the mouth following the treatment requirements of the brush, tooth by tooth, until all teeth have had the treatment. The brush is pressed onto the tooth so there is no requirement for movement, unlike conventional brushing.
I then work around the mouth with a plaque removal tool to flick off and remove as much plaque and tartar as possible.
I then use a tartar removal pencil to go over the surface of the teeth to remove any light staining or light plaque build up to return the teeth to their natural colour.
Once the cleaning has been completed i will give you lots of homecare advice on how to reduce the build up going forward and how to care for your doggies teeth between visits.
What is the price of treatment?
Initial Clean - The price for the initial clean is £35-70 (depending on the severity of the build up). As I only require a single session to fully clean this makes the treatment very affordable.
Maintenance Sessions - These are usually every 3-4 months after the initial clean and are usually £35. These are the best way to keep the build up in check and keep the gums and teeth as healthy as possible. The frequency will be altered as required as some dogs can go longer and some need it slightly more frequently, but i will advise once we have seen you for the first maintenance.
Vets scale and polish price begins from approx. £250 and more often than not they also remove teeth. Sometimes this is necessary, however, in my experience of talking with customers who have a vets diagnosis and then come to see me for the ultrasonic treatment, the vets see the teeth post treatment and comment on hos clean they are and how good they look, with no more mention of teeth needing to be removed. I haev had this feedback from clients a lot since 2019.

Training for pet professionals in ultrasonic teeth cleaning
In 2022 i decided to start sharing my knowledge and skills with other pet professionals around the country to help increase the standard of teeth cleaning for doggies across the country, and even internatioanlly as some of my trainees arent based in the UK.
In January 2024 i also received an endorsement from emmi-pet for my training that i give. This is a such a great accolade to have as there are only 5 endorsed trainers in the UK (as of April 2024) and only 3 of us currently teach excellant manual removal techniques that emmi-pet, and vets, deem to be effecgive, efficient and safe. This endorsement means that i will be able to reach more people and be able to drastically increase the standard of cleaning throughout the country. It is important for pet professionals to know that alongside the brush there are many other techniques required to achieve the results that me, and a few others, get in a very short time frame.
